Mark 15:16-41, April 2
I remember running to my boys’ rooms when they were younger. Something had scared them in the night. Each time, I would reassure them, “God is here with you.” I wanted them to know that from the smallest childhood fear to the biggest life trial, there is one thing they can always count on...God is with you.
When Jesus died, the temple veil was torn from top to bottom. God tore the veil. Through Jesus, forgiveness of sins and access to God were made possible. He would do anything to be with us, even death on a cross.
So the real question for me is this: do I live like I actually have that kind of access? Do I bring my burdens straight to Him? Do I look to Him for comfort, peace, and reassurance when life feels scary and uncertain? Or do I forget the very thing I once reminded my children? "God is with us."
