Mark 1:29-45, February 21

Lenten devotion Mark 1/29-45

In the very first chapter of the Gospel of Mark, it becomes clear why Jesus has come. After declaring the “Kingdom of God has come near” and calling his first disciples, he casts out demons, heals Peter's mother, then many others, and preaches the Good News.  Jesus comes with compassion, providing his healing touch, even to an “untouchable” man with leprosy.  Because of Jesus, no one is outcast, no one is too far gone.

As you see His authority and power over all illness and disease, do you now have hope? Jesus is working, healing both physically and spiritually, restoring life, and addressing our greatest need – the healing of sin. His love for us and his power over sickness, sin, and death will find its fullest expression on the cross.

So come to him for his healing touch - become clean, and restored to life with Him.
